Therapy Services

Helping Hands Center’s Therapy Department offers Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Music Therapy, Psychological Services and Developmental Assessments, as well as Behavioral and Educational Consultation. All therapists are board certified and specialize in working with individuals with autism. Abby David is the Director of Therapy Services. Any questions or concerns regarding therapy services should be directed to Abby.

Speech Therapy Services

Speech Therapy is offered at Helping Hands Center in both individual and group settings. Board Certified Speech and Language Pathologists work with children of all ages and ability levels on social/pragmatic language skills, receptive and expressive language development, articulation, oral motor, and feeding skills. Therapists use a variety of communication tools, including Sign Language, PECS (picture exchange communication), and Augmentative Communication Devices. Multimodal groups are also available with Speech and Music Therapy co-treatment working primarily on social skill development.

Occupational Therapy Services

Our Licensed Occupational Therapists work with children in individual and group settings on fine and gross motor skill development, feeding and oral motor development, writing skills, daily living and play skills, and sensory integration. Co-treatment with other therapies are also available.

Music Therapy Services

Music Therapy is offered in both individual and group settings. Board Certified therapists work with children of all ages and ability levels on social and pragmatic language and communication skills, articulation, receptive and expressive language development, fine and gross motor skills, and cognitive skills. Music Therapists use music and music related strategies to facilitate non-musical goals during instrument play, live singing, songwriting, and dancing and movement. Music Therapists also use a variety of communication tools, including Sign Language, PECS, Augmentative Communication Devices and pictures. Multimodal groups are also available with Music Therapy and Speech Therapy co-treatment working primarily on social skills development.

Psychological Services

Our Psychology department offers developmental and psychological testing and assessments, consultation for IEP development, assistance with behavior plan development, social skills training, extensive feeding programming, supervision for our classrooms, and collaboration and consultation with school districts. Workshops are offered targeting writing social stories, setting up peer buddy programs, and generalization of skills in the home environment.

Summer Camp
Camp HHC, 08 is coming quickly! This year, programs will be held from Monday, June 23 through Thursday, August 14, and will run Monday-Thursday, from 8:45-3:15.
