About Us

Helping Hands Center for Special Needs is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization with a mission to provide educational and therapeutic needs of children with Autism and other developmental disabilities. Every day, we strive to provide a positive learning and therapeutic environment for our student that fosters growth for all and ensures all students achieve their full potential.

Helping Hands Center’s 7th annual fundraising event, “Raise Your Glass to Raise Awareness,” will take place on Friday, April 25th, 2014, from 7:00 – 10:30pm at the Creekside Conference and Event Center. Screening of “Wretches & Jabberers,” 12 noon, Studio 35

Presented by Food for Good Thought, this film follows two autistic men as they travel across the world to dissect public attitudes about autism. The film’s stars will host a Q&A following the screening at Studio 35, 3055 Indianola Ave. This event is free; donations will be accepted.

Autism Awareness Activities @ COSI, 6-9pm
COSI is hosting an event exclusively for families with children on the autism spectrum to promote educational and summer resources. Admission is $9 per person and FREE for COSI members. Jazz Arts Group presents, “Trumpet Summit” at the Southern Theatre and welcomes Helping Hands Center as its Human Services partner.

On Friday, April 11, Co-Founders Abby David and Erin Nealy will join artistic director Byron Stripling on stage immediately following intermission.

VSA Ohio Artist Reception, 2-3 pm
Join Helping Hands Center for a reception featuring the artwork completed during this spring’s VSAOhio Artist Residency projects. Hosted by PTO, come view the artwork, meet artists Jim Arter and Eric Marlow, enjoy refreshments, and celebrate the artistic accomplishments of the students at Helping Hands Center.
